Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to the use of HauntedMC, including our website, Minecraft server, community features, accounts, support channels, digital content and related services.

We have written these terms as clearly as possible. By using HauntedMC, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Server Rules, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy and any additional rules or terms that apply to a specific part of HauntedMC.

1. HauntedMC is a Dutch Minecraft community and Minecraft server.
2. You are responsible for your account, your behavior and what happens through your account.
3. Everyone must follow the server rules and staff instructions.
4. Hacks, cheats, exploits, griefing, scamming, intimidation, doxing, spam, fraud and abuse are not allowed.
5. Ranks, cosmetics, claim blocks, keys, tokens and other benefits are digital or virtual benefits inside HauntedMC.
6. A purchase, rank, donation or long playtime does not give you permission to break the rules.
7. HauntedMC may act in cases of violations, abuse, technical problems, safety risks or necessary changes.
8. External services, such as Tebex, Discord, Minecraft, Microsoft and payment providers, may have their own terms.

1. Who are we?

HauntedMC is a Dutch Minecraft community and Minecraft server.

In these terms, “HauntedMC”, “we”, “us” or “our” means the HauntedMC administrators responsible for the website, server, community systems, moderation and support.

HauntedMC is not an official Minecraft, Mojang or Microsoft service. More information is available in our Disclaimer.

2. Definitions

In these terms, we mean:

User, player or you: anyone who uses HauntedMC.

Server: the Minecraft server or servers, gamemodes and connected systems of HauntedMC.

Account: a Minecraft, website, forum, Discord or community account used in connection with HauntedMC.

Digital content: virtual items, ranks, upgrades, cosmetics, claim blocks, keys, tokens, permissions, rewards or other non physical benefits inside HauntedMC.

Staff: owners, administrators, moderators, helpers, builders, developers and other team members appointed by HauntedMC.

Rules: the server rules, community guidelines, staff instructions and additional rules that apply on HauntedMC.

Store: the HauntedMC Store or webstore where digital content or virtual benefits for HauntedMC may be offered.

3. What do these terms apply to?

These terms apply to:

1. hauntedmc.nl and subdomains.
2. The HauntedMC Minecraft server or servers.
3. Accounts, profiles and community features.
4. Support tickets and contact with staff.
5. Participation in gamemodes, events and gameplay.
6. Use of digital content within HauntedMC.
7. Use of official HauntedMC communication channels, where we manage them.
8. Other services or features offered by HauntedMC.

For purchases through the HauntedMC Store, our Store Terms, Tebex terms and the terms shown during checkout also apply.

If these terms conflict with mandatory consumer rights, those legal rights take priority.

4. Access to HauntedMC

HauntedMC is intended to be a safe, fair and friendly Minecraft community.

You are responsible for:

1. Keeping your account secure.
2. Everything that happens through your account, unless there is clearly abuse outside your control.
3. Using a normal and allowed Minecraft client.
4. Following our rules.
5. Respectful behavior towards players and staff.
6. Handling your own data and other people’s data carefully.

We may temporarily or permanently restrict access to HauntedMC if needed for safety, moderation, maintenance, abuse prevention, technical stability or rule enforcement.

You may not bypass bans, mutes, IP blocks, account restrictions or other actions.

5. Behavior and server rules

Every player must follow the server rules and staff instructions.

The following is prohibited in any case:

1. Discrimination, racism, sexism, hateful behavior or intimidation.
2. Threats, doxing, stalking or sharing other people’s private information.
3. Bullying, teasing, provoking or deliberately ruining the enjoyment of others.
4. Spamming, flooding, swearing or deliberately disrupting chat.
5. Griefing, scamming, deception or unfair trading.
6. Hacks, cheats, unauthorized mods, bots, macros, exploits or bug abuse.
7. DDoS attacks, hacking attempts or other disruption of systems.
8. Advertising other servers, products or services without permission.
9. Inappropriate usernames, skins, builds, signs, item names or other content.
10. Impersonating staff, players, partners or known people.
11. Selling or trading accounts, ranks, items or benefits outside allowed systems.
12. Abuse of support, reports, appeals or staff contact.

The full and current server rules are available on the website. Staff may also act against behavior that is not literally listed in the rules, but is clearly harmful to HauntedMC, players, staff or the community.

6. Moderation and actions

If rules are broken, HauntedMC may take action.

Examples include:

1. Warning.
2. Kick.
3. Temporary or permanent mute.
4. Temporary or permanent ban.
5. IP ban.
6. Removal, rollback or modification of content.
7. Removal or restriction of rights.
8. Reset or correction of unlawfully obtained benefits.
9. Restriction or closure of accounts.
10. Refusal or restriction of support in cases of abuse.

Staff tries to act reasonably and carefully, but may act immediately when needed for safety, order, evidence preservation, protection of players or server continuity.

A purchase, rank, donation or long playtime does not give permission to break the rules and does not give immunity from action.

7. Appeals against actions

If you disagree with a mute, ban or other action, you can appeal through the official support channel.

An appeal must be honest, complete and respectful.

We may refuse or close an appeal in cases of:

1. Insults, threats or spam.
2. False information.
3. Repeatedly submitting the same resolved issue.
4. Abuse of the appeal or support system.
5. Attempts to manipulate evidence.
6. Attempts to pressure staff.

Submitting an appeal does not automatically mean that an action will be removed.

8. Accounts and security

You may not use accounts for abuse, spam, fraud, ban evasion, impersonation or other violations.

We may restrict, block or remove accounts when:

1. The account breaks rules.
2. The account creates security risks.
3. There is fraud, chargebacks or abuse.
4. The account is used to bypass actions.
5. This is needed for management, safety, technical stability or legal obligations.

Do not share your account details with others. If your account is abused because you shared your details, actions against the account may remain in place.

If you suspect your account has been hacked or abused, contact support as soon as possible.

9. Availability, maintenance and changes

We try to keep HauntedMC available as much as possible, but we do not guarantee that the website, server or features will always be available, error free, safe or unchanged.

HauntedMC may be temporarily or permanently affected by:

1. Maintenance.
2. Updates.
3. Outages.
4. Attacks or abuse.
5. Technical problems.
6. Changes in Minecraft, Mojang, Microsoft, plugins or external services.
7. Hosting or network issues.
8. Force majeure.
9. Security measures.
10. Necessary changes for performance or stability.

We may change, reset, move, remove or end features, gamemodes, worlds, settings, ranks, permissions, economy, claims, plots, items and systems when needed for gameplay, balance, safety, technical reasons, legal obligations or community management.

Where reasonable, we try to communicate important changes clearly before or after they happen.

10. Digital content and virtual benefits

Digital content inside HauntedMC is virtual and has no real money value.

Examples include:

1. Ranks.
2. Rank upgrades.
3. Cosmetics.
4. Claim blocks.
5. Plots.
6. Homes.
7. Permissions.
8. Crates, keys, tokens or similar benefits.
9. Other server benefits.

Digital content:

1. Is linked to HauntedMC and/or the relevant Minecraft account details.
2. May not be sold, rented, traded or exchanged outside HauntedMC for real money or real value.
3. May depend on the availability of the server, gamemode, plugins or external systems.
4. May be adjusted when needed for balance, safety, technical reasons or rule compliance.
5. May be restricted or removed in cases of abuse, fraud, chargebacks or serious violations.

We try to deliver digital content correctly. If something is not delivered properly, contact support.

11. Store, purchases and payments

Purchases through the HauntedMC Store are processed through Tebex.

During checkout, additional terms and privacy notices from Tebex and payment providers may apply. Read these carefully before making a purchase.

Check your order carefully before paying. Digital content is usually delivered to the Minecraft username or UUID entered during purchase. Mistakes in entered information may delay or prevent delivery.

Digital content is usually delivered immediately or shortly after payment. If you agree during checkout to immediate delivery of digital content, the legal withdrawal right may expire where the law allows this.

Refunds, chargebacks, payment issues and fraud reports are handled according to the applicable store terms, Tebex terms, payment terms and mandatory consumer rights.

A ban, mute or other action caused by breaking the rules does not automatically give you the right to a refund.

12. Minors and purchases

HauntedMC may be used by minors.

Are you under 16? Ask permission or help from a parent or guardian before you:

1. Share personal data.
2. Create an account.
3. Contact support.
4. Make a purchase.
5. Buy or use digital content.

Parents or guardians may contact support with questions about accounts, purchases or data of a minor player.

13. User generated content

Players can create or place content, such as:

1. Builds.
2. Chat messages.
3. Signs.
4. Item names.
5. Books.
6. Forum posts.
7. Profile information.
8. Skins.
9. Screenshots.
10. Support attachments.

You are responsible for what you place or create.

You may not place content that:

1. Is unlawful.
2. Is discriminatory, threatening, intimidating or hateful.
3. Is sexually explicit or inappropriate.
4. Contains private information about others.
5. Infringes copyrights or other rights.
6. Is misleading, harmful or disruptive.
7. Violates the rules of HauntedMC.

By placing content on HauntedMC, you give HauntedMC permission to use, show, store, moderate, move, remove and technically process that content for offering, managing, securing and promoting HauntedMC.

We may remove or modify content if it violates rules, rights of others, safety or the community interest.

14. Intellectual property

The HauntedMC name, website, texts, designs, logos, configurations, systems, documentation and HauntedMC’s own content may not be copied, distributed or commercially used without permission.

Minecraft, Mojang, Microsoft, Xbox and related names, trademarks and assets are owned by their respective rights holders.

HauntedMC is not officially affiliated with, approved by or supported by Mojang or Microsoft, unless expressly stated otherwise.

15. Support and communication

Support is intended for serious questions, problems, reports, complaints and appeals.

We may refuse, restrict or close support in cases of:

1. Spam.
2. Insults or threats.
3. Abuse of the ticket system.
4. False information.
5. Repeatedly submitting the same resolved issue.
6. Requests that have nothing to do with HauntedMC.
7. Attempts to pressure staff.

We try to handle support within a reasonable time, but we do not guarantee a specific response time.

16. Privacy

We process personal data according to our Privacy Policy. It explains which data we process, why we do so, how long we keep data and which rights you have.

For cookies and browser storage, our Cookie Policy also applies.

17. Liability

HauntedMC is not liable for damage caused by:

1. Temporary unavailability of the website or server.
2. Loss of virtual progress or digital content due to technical problems, resets, updates, balance changes or actions.
3. Behavior of other players.
4. Outages at third parties.
5. Use of unauthorized mods, clients or external software.
6. Incorrect information entered by you.
7. Loss of access to your Minecraft, Discord, Tebex or other external account.
8. Maintenance, security measures or necessary changes to HauntedMC.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for damage that may not legally be excluded or limited, such as intent, deliberate recklessness or mandatory consumer rights.

18. Ending use

You can stop using HauntedMC at any time.

We may restrict or end your access to HauntedMC when:

1. You violate these terms or rules.
2. This is needed for safety, management or continuity.
3. There is fraud, abuse or chargebacks.
4. HauntedMC fully or partly stops or changes.
5. We are legally required to do so.

After ending use, provisions that by their nature should continue remain in force, such as provisions about moderation, liability, intellectual property, privacy, disputes and obligations that already arose.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when HauntedMC, our systems, the community, external services or the law changes.

The latest version is always available on our website.

For important changes, we try to inform users in an appropriate way, for example through the website, Discord or another official announcement.

For purchases, the terms that applied during checkout apply, unless a change is legally required, benefits the user or follows otherwise from applicable law or terms.

20. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

Try to resolve disputes through support first. If that does not work, the dispute may be submitted to the competent court under the applicable legal rules.
